What is NEUROARCHITECTURE?
“NeuroArchitecture” is the application of neuroscience to architecture.
This discipline provides knowledge, more objective and in real time, about the cognitive-emotional state of the users in architectural and urban spaces.
About
US
The NeuroArchitecture UPV team is the first NeuroArchitecture laboratory in Spain. We are a consolidated R+D+i team with more than 20 years of experience in research projects in this area.
SEEBACKGROUND
Smartclassroom
There are many studies on the effect that classroom design has on students' cognitive performance. What do we know, so far, about the 3 key elements of this project?
SEEThe project is structured in 3 phases, each one of them gives an answer to a different question.

LABORATORY
Smartclassroom
The NeuroArchitecture Laboratory of the UPV has developed over 20 years of experimental practice a proprietary protocol based on two fundamental tools. These tools form the basis of Smartclassroom.
SEERESULTS
Smartclassroom
We have demonstrated a strong association between colour, light and geometry parameters, the cognitive functions of attention and memory, and physiological arousal.
We have observed that design parameters generate higher physiological activation of the body and, at the same time, better performance of attention and memory tasks.
