LABORATORY:

Smartclassroom

The SmartClassroom methodology is based on these two tools:

1. Previously validated simulation systems that allow modifying classroom conditions in a controlled manner.

INITIATE SIMULATION

2. Systems for measuring psychological (by performing tasks) and neurophysiological (by monitoring the subject) response.

EEG

The electroencephalogram (EEG) measures variations in electrical activity on the surface of the scalp.

ECG

The electrocardiogram (ECG) measures the electrical activation of the heart. Its analysis allows, among other things, the calculation of heartbeat interval variations (HRV).

EDA

Electrodermal activity (EDA) measures variations in skin sweating.

MEMORY TASK

This task consisted of listening, memorising and repeating a list of words. It was similar to the DRM paradigm experiments ((Deese, 1959; Roediger & McDermott, 1995).).

ATTENTION TASK

This task consisted of listening to a series of auditory stimuli, reacting to specific ones as quickly as possible and avoiding others. It was similar to the continuous auditory performance tests (Seidman et al., 1998).

QUESTIONNAIRE

Participants completed questionnaires about their classroom experience. It included the assessment of different functional, cognitive, emotional and aesthetic aspects.
